| The Digipak has been the best alternative to a traditional jewel case package, since the first day it was invented. Compared to the traditional jewel case package, the Digipak uses double-layered, folded cardboard to replace the jewel case's front and back panels. Although it requires a digitray to be placed on the inside panel, it still reduces the amount of plastic used by about 60%. The double layered cardboard also provides better shock absorption and can absorb more impact without cracking like plastic parts. Art designers also have much more room to design and be creative with a Digipak. All these positive points, it is not surprising that it has become one of the favorite packaging for Indie artists. |
